Black Hills has announced new ammunition loaded with the .308 175-grain Sierra MatchKing X, a bullet that retains all of the accuracy capability of the standard MatchKing but now incorporates design modifications to produce superior long-range terminal performance.
Point of impact, accuracy, and trajectory remain unchanged, and the result is match accuracy plus terminal performance on game.
The trajectory remains the same, so long-range shooters who love the legacy 175 MatchKing can have the best of both worlds without developing new range tables.

The 175 MatchKing projectile from Sierra bullets has been world-renowned among long-range competitors for years, in ammunition loaded by Black Hills and others, including U.S. military rounds as the M118LR and Mk316 Mod 0 configurations.
It’s known for reliable accuracy in the widest variety of precision rifles, and its excellent ballistic coefficient provides long-range stability and improved wind resistance.
The standard MatchKing is an excellent match bullet, but it was never designed for terminal performance. That’s where the new MatchKing X comes in in loads like Black Hills’ new .308.
