Savage Arms didn’t try to reinvent the wheel when they designed the 110 Carbon Hunter. They just made it lighter, tougher, and tailored for real-world hunts. This rig isn’t trying to impress anyone in a gun shop aisle with flashy, high-end features. Instead, what makes it impressive is its practicality.
The carbon fiber barrel measures 18 to 20 inches, depending on caliber. Carbon fiber helps keep things lightweight and improves accuracy. It’s threaded from the factory and ready for a brake or suppressor. T
he barreled action wears a tungsten Cerakote finish that shrugs off rain, snow, and sweaty pack-outs. Not only does it look sharp, but it also keeps rust and corrosion at bay.
Savage Arms dropped the action into a new flat dark gray 110 Trophy stock with built-in length-of-pull adjustment. With a few turns of a dial, you can get a custom fit without a trip to a gunsmith.
The 110 Carbon Hunter also features a LimbSaver recoil pad, which dramatically tames felt recoil, which is a godsend when shooting heavy-hitting cartridges from a lightweight rig.
The familiar Savage Arms details are all here, including the user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which is settable from 2.5 to pounds. It also comes with a one-piece 0 MOA rail ready for modern optics and a detachable box magazine.
This rifle is available chambered for all the most popular hunting cartridges, all of which are available in left-hand configurations.
Nothing here is flashy. But it’s just plain practical. The Savage 110 Carbon Hunter is built to get used, knocked around, dragged through weather, and still shoot when it counts. This one was clearly designed by people who get how hunters use their rifles.
